Remarques pour Mayotte
These specimens are all characterized by the presence of a sexual tube on coxa of male right P5 were pre-identified, just after the fieldwork, as Boninpagurus aff. acanthocheles Asakura & Tachikawa, 2004. Careful examination of the lot by T. Komai, in June 2011, has revealed that it includes in fact several species, probably all new: Cestopagurus sp. nov., St. 12 (MNHN-Pg 8518, Fig. 23 A), St. 14, 17, St. 25 (MNHN-Pg 8520); Micropagurus sp. nov., St. 17; and Trichopagurus sp. nov. St. 8 (MNHN-Pg 8521). These species will be treated in a separate systematic study (Komai & Poupin, in preparation).
Micropagurus sp. nov., St. 17 (MNHN-Pg8544) - cette espèce pré-determinée un temps par Komai a finalement été "laissée de côté" et n'apparaît pas dans Komai & Poupin, Zoozystema, soumis). Com. Komai : "I decided to exclude Micropagurus sp. from the manuscript. I carefully examined Asakura's (2005) redescription of M. polynesiensis and some specimens from Japan at my hand, and now am inclined to believe that Asakura (2005) confounded more than one species in M. polynesiensis. The two specimens from Moyotte are similar to the syntypes of M. polynesiensis, but differs from the specimens from the Philippines in the armature of the chelipeds and ambulatory legs. My Japanese specimens identifiable with M. polynesiensis according to Asakura's (2005) key also different from the Myotte specimens in the better developed armature of the right chela. Comparison of extensive collections from various Indo-Pacific localities is now advisable.
